Nebraska Health and Human Services says both victims were older adults with underlying conditions who lived in the Three River Health District, which includes Dodge, Saunders, and Washington Counties.

So far, the mosquito-borne West Nile virus has been found in 12 Nebraska counties with 27 human cases confirmed. Last year, the state reported 15 human cases of the virus and one death.
