Starting this summer, Chadron State College will have the same dining services provider as Peru State and Wayne State.
The Nebraska State College System trustees last week approved the school’s choice of Fresh Ideas, which has been the provider at Peru State since 2019,
Fresh Ideas Vice President of Operations Brian Dittmer says they look forward to their partnership with Chadron State and creating a dynamic and engaging program for the students and the greater Chadron community.
Dittmer says Fresh Ideas prides itself on responding to the latest food industry trends and dietary needs of their customers, and will introduce several new options and programs to CSC next fall focused on serving fresh, flavorful foods.
There will be a new dining-focused mobile app, a reimagined Eagle Market with an all new Qdoba Mexican Eats, a 24/7 fresh food vending machine and more.
Dean of Student Affairs Austen Stephens says CSC is excited by Fresh Ideas student-centered improvements and can’t wait for students to enjoy the new concepts, technology improvements, and phased refreshment of dining spaces.
While Fresh Ideas will be new to Chadron State, there will be a familiar face in charge as the company is keeping Karl Kigerl as Food Service Director and Manager.
Dittmer says the company will also interview current dining staff and hopes to keep them to promote continuity throughout the upcoming transition.
