According to three recent polls, incumbent Republican Senator Deb Fischer appears to be slightly overtaking independent Dan Osborn in their 2024 race.
A poll conducted by Torchlight Strategies- which is sponsored by Fischer- shows that from October 25th-28th, out of 605 likely voters 51% were in favor of Fischer while only 44% were in favor of Osborn. The remaining 7% were left undecided
A second poll (and most recently conducted) from Change Research shows a tie between Fischer and Osborn at 47% out of 600 likely voters. The remaining 6% were also left undecided. This would imply a much closer race than the Fischer-backed Torchlight poll. However, Change Research also has a partisan sponsor: Dan Osborn.
The third poll was conducted by a Public Limited Company based out of the UK known as YouGov. This reportedly neutral firm held a poll composed of 1200 likely voters from October 21st-28th and also showed a significant lead for Fischer; 50% Fischer, 43% Osborn, with the remaining 7% left undecided.
The NY Times averaged these polls and included their own to show Fischer leading 47% to 44%- with a 3% uptick for Fischer since October 15th.
Ultimately, the pre-election polls are not entirely indicative of the final results. All of the aforementioned polls have a 3-4% margin of error, or carry some form of bias.
