Returning Chadron Public School students generally saw familiar faces when they reported Thursday for the first day of school with relatively few new teachers and only two new administrators in the district.
Activities Director Rick Barry moved from the Crawford Public Schools to the school district he attended to succeed the retired Andy Pope while Tiffany Brown-Waldron replaces Bill Cogdill as principal of the Intermediate School.Â
Cogdill remains with the district as a teacher at the Middle School, a move Superintendent Ginger Meyer says was Cogdill’s idea.
Brown Waldron joined the Chadron Public Schools last year in a split position as a special education teacher and Special Education Director. Meyer says she’ll remain the Special Education Director while principal.
The switch in positions is one reason the Chadron district has 2 new special education teachers this year.
