New Reality Show Visits Panhandle

The Union Bar in Gering, Hauser’s Grab and Go in Crawford, and The Busted Nut in Ardmore were all stops Friday for a reality TV show hosted by former Husker and New England Patriot linebacker Mike Petko

‘America’s Lost and Found’ is not with a network yet but will be announced at a later date.

Petko and his film crew were headed to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and made the Panhandle-area stops because he is long-time good friends with Union Bar owner Scott Swanson.

Petko told NBC Nebraska that when the idea for America’s Lost and Found was being discussed and the route to Sturgis was being mapped out, he knew they had to come through Gering and stop at the Union Bar

Petko said Swanson is “just so cool” and the bar really fits the show because while it’s a “gathering spot for community members,” it’s not widely known – making it “an undiscovered American treasure” in his view.

Petko sent out word along the route that he’d like to see as many motorcycles and people to “liven up our small town treasures,” and a number did that in Gering, Crawford, and Ardmore.
