“Black Tie Calf Fry” Online Auction Fundraiser For CSC Rodeo Ends Friday

The pandemic has been tough on the Chadron State College athletic department, cancelling and moving games and entire seasons and forcing major changes to a number of annual fundraising events.

The latest to be impacted is the CSC Rodeo program’s Black Tie Calf Fry, a dinner with live and silent auctions.

Because of COVID protocols, this year’s dinner and live auction were cancelled – leaving only the silent auction, which ends this Friday.

Rodeo Head Coach Dustin Luper says the auction is being conducted online through Qtego, which has run the CSC “When Eagles Dare” fundraiser. Luper says it’s not too late to sign up at btcf.home.qtego.net

Auction items include apparel, gift baskets, equipment, decor, and artwork. Luper especially likes the decor and artwork – much of it from his athletes.

Rodeo isn’t an NCAA sport, it has its own sanctioning body, which means it lacks some of the funding support of other CSC sports. Luper says the Black Tie Calf Fry helps fill the gap in terms of both expenses and scholarships.

Again, the online auction for this year’s Chadron State College Rodeo Program’s Black Tie Calf Fry ends on Friday.
