The latest update on the Casino Fire, burning since Tuesday on the Pine Ridge Reservation about 7-½ miles southeast of Oglala, lists it at 12,636 acres and just 51% contained.
    The 7:30 posting Thursday night said more ground units have joined the effort with 3 Type 2 crews, 14 Type-6 engines, 2 dozers and 3 water tenders joining 7 aircraft, including 3 single-engine air tankers and 2 multi-engine large air tankers.Â
While the Casino is still growing, its advance has been halted in the Slim Buttes area, considered sacred by the Lakota.
