The Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety says the remains of a woman missing for more than a month have been found near Oglala. 27-year old Cheryl “Tia” Long Soldier was seen January 3rd.
OST Public Safety says the remains were discovered Tuesday during a search of the Grass Creek area, where Long Soldier had last been reported. Tribal officers assisted family members, volunteers, and multiple tribal programs in the search.
The remains have been confirmed to be those of Long Soldier, but the cause of death has not yet been determined with the case remaining under investigation.
