Wyo Father Stopped For Drunk Driving Tells Deputies His 4-Year Old Son Actually Behind The Wheel

A Gillette man is accused of trying to get out of a drunken driving charge by claiming his preschool-age son was the one behind the wheel.

Campbell County sheriff’s officials say deputies pulled over the 39-year-old man on Saturday when his two sons, ages 4 and 15, were in his pickup with him.

He refused to take field sobriety and breath tests while telling the deputies the 4-year-old was sitting on his lap and was actually the one driving.

Deputies arrested him for driving under the influence, driving without an interlock device from prior DUI convictions, and violating probation.
