A $15,000 LB840 economic development grant will aid Northwest Nebraska Development
Corporation with a one year strategic marketing plan.
NNDC Director Deb Cottier said she plans to hire Golden Shovel, an agency out of Minnesota that focuses on economic development and tourism marketing. The goal is to improve the recruitment of new residents, businesses and to increase visitor spending and the available workforce through collaborative efforts with Chadron State College and Discover Northwest Nebraska.
NNDC will end up with a redesigned website and a 12-month content and marketing strategy that can be built upon in future years, Cottier said. The LB840 advisory committee
recommended approval of the grant, and the Chadron City Council concurred Monday on a 4-0 vote.
