NNFA&G Names New Bessey District Ranger

Jack Isaacs, Nebraska National Forests & Grasslands (NNFG) Forest Supervisor announced that Tedd Teahon has been selected as the new Bessey District Ranger.

Teahon is a lifetime resident of the Dunning, NE area. He was raised on a Red Angus ranch that he and his wife Julie have operated since 2006. They stay busy with two children, Charlsie and Thatcher.

Tedd started his US Forest Service career in 1997 as a seasonal Range Technician and continued to work in this capacity at the main office in Chadron for two years.

From 1999 and 2000, Teahon worked on the Black Hills National Forest as a Forestry Technician on a type 6 Fire Engine, moving up to Fire Engine Captain in Halsey, NE in 2001.

His exemplary firefighting and organizational skills were noted in 2013 as he was promoted to Zone Fire Management Officer, (ZFMO).

Throughout his career Tedd has successfully completed multiple fire assignments all over the United States, earning himself multiple awards.

Tedd is excited for the advancement in his US Forest Service career to the
leadership position as the Bessey District Ranger. United States Department of Agriculture

Tedd states, “When I’m not working at the Forest or on the ranch, I am
usually at one of my Kids sporting events or coaching a sporting event.”

His leadership skills are well recognized within the communities as he serves as the School Board President and in multiple other groups.
