The Roadrunner Fire, burning on Nebraska Game and Parks land west of Crawford near Smiley Canyon since Saturday, is listed at just 40% contained but also still hasn’t grown since Saturday and remains at 30-acres.

Crawford Fire Chief Brian Prosser says the dozer lines that were established around most of the perimeter on Saturday and Sunday continue to hold with any future growth coming from unburned areas in the interior.

The Roadrunner Fire is the biggest of 4 fires reported in this area on Saturday.

The Graduation Fire 10 miles south of Chadron was controlled at 3-acres and out by 8:00 Sunday morning while in South Dakota there were the 11.6-acre Boom Fire southeast of Argyle and the 5.4-acre Red Fire 6 miles south of Hot Springs.

Meanwhile, demobilization has been completed on the Natick Fire, which burned 1,849-acres near Halsey in the Nebraska National Forest. It was reported Wednesday afternoon and declared contained Sunday evening at 6:00.
