Northern Panhandle Schools Claim 6 Firsts At Best In The West

       Chadron High boys took 4 firsts and the Lady Cards 1 last night at the Best of the West Meet in Scottsbluff. 

       Chayton Bynes dominated the LJ and TJ, winning the LJ by over 14” at 21-4.25 and the TJ by 11.5” with a jump of 42-05.75. Bynes was also 6th in the HJ.

      The Cards swept the top 3 spots in the boys 110 High Hurdles and 300 Intermediate Hurdles.  Xander Provance ran a PR 15.15 to win the highs with Rhett Cullers 2nd in 15:34 and Garrett Reece 3rd in 15.71, another PR. The 4th place time was 16.32.

      Cullers posted a PR in winning the 300 IH with a time of 40.82, followed by Malachi Swallow at 41.40 and Reece again 3rd in a PR of 41.53. All 6 times were wind-aided.

       The lone first for the Chadron girls was from the 4×800 relay team of Micaiah Fuller, Makinley Fuller, Grace Pyle, and Kyndall Carnahan in 10:21.57, but the Lady Cards also collected 4 seconds and a pair of 3rds.

      Tatum Bailey accounted for most of that with 2nd in the TJ and 100 hurdles, tying for 2nd in the 200 and taking 3rd in the HJ. The 4×400 relay was 2nd and Makinley Fuller placed 3rd in the 300 hurdles. 

     Gordon-Rushville’s McKinley Grover won the girls discus by almost 6-feet with a personal record while teammate Tyrah American Horse was 2nd in the 1600 and 3200. For the Mustang boys, Jace Freeseman was 3rd in the 400.

      The Sioux County girls picked up a 3rd from Britney Klein in the 800 and a 5th in the 400 by Skylar Edmund while the Crawford girls were led by 4ths from Paityn Homan in the 3200 and Kiera Brennan in the 800 and 5ths by Dalli Anders in the 100 and 200.

     Neither the Crawford or Sioux County boys had anyone place.
