Two new councilmen took their oaths of office Monday. Kevin Oleksy and Clay Andersen were the top two choices at the polls in November for seats previously held by Miles Bannan, who resigned early, and Joe Johndreau. Oleksy tallied 887 votes, while Andersen had 853. They beat out Bat Pourier and Jessy Roberts.
Both Oleksy and Andersen said they are excited and expressed gratitude to those who have
supported them.
โIโm glad to be here and am excited to get to work,โ Oleksy said. Andersen concurred, saying
being a council member will be โan exciting new adventure.โ
Johndrea thanked past and present council members for their mentorship during his term,
adding he appreciates that the members heโs worked with always found ways to work together, even if they disagreed on an issue.
โIโm very grateful for everything weโve doneโฆItโs been really rewarding,โ Johndreau said. โI
believe the future looks bright.โ
Mayor George Klein received unanimous support to remain in that position, while Shane Shepherd will take the position of vice mayor.
The only item the new councilmen acted on in their first meeting was to approve surplus
inventory that will be sold in an online auction.
