Oregon Trail Community Foundation Awards$105,500 in Scholarships

The Oregon Trail Community Foundation has selected 41 students to receive a total of
$105,500 in scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year. A special thank you to Jim and Nancy Kerr for sponsoring the OTCF scholarship software, which allows applying for a scholarship easier, faster and more comprehensive than our traditional applications of the past.

Winners of the Oregon Trail Community Foundation scholarship include:

A Hand Up Scholarship (NEW in 2024): Jennifer Eickmann of Humboldt, NE, $6,000

Agribusiness Scholarship: Erin Fitts of Gering, $2,000 and Justin Dobrinski of Bridgeport, $2,000

Autumn H. Elsen Memorial Scholarship (NEW in 2024): Grace Dean of Bridgeport, $4,000 and Jackson Howard of Gering, $4,000

“Our scholarship program is designed to benefit students in western Nebraska and
eastern Wyoming. We’re pleased to offer both academic and vocational scholarships that help regional students pursue their educational interests and hope that, ultimately, they will return to our communities to live and work,”
said Joanne Krieg, Oregon Trail Community Foundation board member and scholarship committee chair.
