Funeral services for 68-year old Orin Clay “Big C” “Puff” Janis are Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:00 at the On Common Ground Church in Rapid City, SD.
Burial follows at 11:30 at the Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.
A one-night wake service starts Thurs, April 18, at noon at the On Common Ground Church in Rapid City with evening services at 6:00.

Orin Clay Janis was born on Oct 15, 1955 in Pine Ridge, SD to George “Buddy” Janis Sr and Althea (Bettelyoun) Janis. Orin made his journey to the Spirit World on April 5, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Orin is survived by his children Angela, Amy and Norma Janis; siblings Roger Janis of Omaha, NE, Leon (Bobbi Jo) Janis and George (Lori) Janis Jr, both of Chadron, NE, Jean Merrival and Bobbi Jo Merrival, both of Greeley, CO; hunka family Alberta Clinchers, Sherry, Fred and CJ Mousseaux; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Orin was preceded in death by his parents George “Buddy” Janis Sr and Althea (Bettelyoun) Janis; sisters Theresa, Janice, and Christine Janis; and grandparents Hobert Janis and Ethel Hobbes-Janis.
Pallbearers will be Myron Wagner, Dominic Janis, Eugene Red Star, Ed Muhm, Travis Peneaux, Joseph Mousseaux, David Byington III, and Nate Whalen.
Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends and Family.
