Funeral services for 57-year old Oris Morrison are Tues, Feb 8, 2022 at 11:00 at St John’s Episcopal Church near Oglala, SD, with Sister Barb Bogenschutz officiating.

Burial is at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Oglala

A one-night wake service starts Mon, Feb 7, 2022 10:00, also at St John’s Episcopal Church 

Oris Lynn Morrison was born on November 13, 1954 in Pine Ridge, SD to V. Orrie Morrson and Christine (Belt) Provost.  Oris made his journey to the Spirit World on February 1, 2022 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Oris is survived by his children, Amanda (Blake) Simmons of Sacramento, CA, Joseph Morrison of Oglala, SD, Oris (Candace) Morrison of Lawrence, KS, Bodie (Calesta) Morrison of Oglala, SD, Randi Morrison of Lawrence, KS, and Johnathan Morrison of Oglala, SD; mother, Christine (Belt) Provost of Oglala, SD; grandchildren, Samantha & AnnAleta Simmons both of Sacramento, CA, Kameron Morrison of Lawrence, KS, Nevayah Racehorse of Ft. Hall, ID, and Gail Red Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD; siblings, Orrie (Serina) Morrison of Busby, MT, Orin (Liz) Morrison and Darlis (Rex) Crow, Lynette Morrison, Curt Morrison, & Robert Morrison all of Oglala, SD, Martina Morrison of Chadron, NE, and Francene Shakespeare of Ethete, WY.

Oris was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Aleta (Lame) Morrison; son, Blu Chance Morrison; father, V. Orrie Morrison; step-father, Adolph Provost; maternal grandparents, Samuel & Elizabeth Belt; and paternal grandparents, James & Alice (Salway) Morrison.
