Panhandle Man ID’ed As Victim In Black Hills ATV Accident

     The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the man killed Friday night when an ATV rolled down an embankment while being towed in the Black Hills was from the Panhandle.

35-year old Terry Hill of Lyman died at the scene 9 miles southwest of Lead and 3 miles south of Cheyenne Crossing. 

      The Highway Patrol says Hill and 23-year old Nathan Hill of Laramie, Wyo, were riding in the towed ATV while 30-year old Tyler Hill of Morrill, Wyo, and 30-year old Tyler McKiney of Mitchell were in the ATV doing the towing. 

     The Patrol says as the ATVs made a left curve a little after 7:00 pm, the towed one left the roadway to the right and struck a tree, then rolled over and down an embankment before coming to rest on the passenger’s side. 

       Terry Hill was in the driver’s seat of the towed ATV and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

     Nathan Hill, in the passenger seat, was taken to Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.with serious but non-life threatening injuries. 

     Tyler Hill and Tyler McKiney, in the other ATV were uninjured. Authorities have not said how or if any of the 4 men are related.

       Terry Hill leaves behind his wife, Katie, and 3 children, including 1-year old Eddisyn, with another due in November.

       Funeral services for Terry Hill are this Saturday at 2 pm at the Scottsbluff County Fairgrounds Event Center. 

     Afterward, everyone is invited to Redz Bar and Grill in Mitchell for snacks and the Husker game with everyone asked to wear their favorite Husker gear in Terry’s memory.
