Join Park Ranger Eric Graves in the amphitheater behind the Scotts Bluff National Monument visitor center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5th for a talk about overland trail cutoffs. Some of these cutoffs saved time or brought the traveler to superior grazing or water. Others proved to be a disaster by delaying emigrants with rough terrain or leading them away from water and grazing. In Scotts Bluff National Monument, we have a cut-off, Mitchell Pass. In the event of inclement weather, the program will move inside to the visitor center theater.
This program is FREE and appropriate for visitors of all ages. The Scotts Bluff National Monument outdoor amphitheater is located behind the visitor center at 190276 Old Oregon Trail in Gering.
