Paul John Mercado was born on Nov 6, 1991 in Rapid City, SD to Peter Carl Gay and Leora Cindy Mercado. Paul made his journey to the Spirit World on Feb 12, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Paul is survived by his mother Leora Cindy Mercado; sisters Kristy (Reggie) Martinez, Kari (Chris) Burks, Katrina(Dean) LaPointe, Laticia (Darrel Jr) Brushbreaker, and Sunshine (Michael) Gay; brothers William Gay, Peter Gay Jr, Ota Gay, Robert (Ash) Gay, Charles (Shanda) Gay, Larry Gay, and Aaron Gay; honorary sisters Victoria Iron Horn and Tammy Mesteth; uncles Aaron (Sandra) Gay, Alex Gay Jr, Mario Vasquez Sr, and Larry Mercado; aunts Gayla (Richard) Gay, Rose (Tony) Lovato, Susanna Mercado, Sophia (Lyle) Iron Horn, Brenda (Manuel) White Face, Gloria Mercado, Rebecca (Mike) Mercado, and Marsha Friday; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and grandkids.
Paul was preceded in death by his father Peter Gay Sr, grandparents Sophia (Red Wolf) Gay, Alexander Gay, Cecelia White Dress- Frazier, Curtis Frazier, Larry Mercado Sr, and Pearl White Dress; aunts Sharon Gay, Tynie Gay, Susie Tenorio, and Josie Vasquez; uncle Steven Gay; and cousins Mercy Ramos, Daryl Little, and Lolita Mesteth.
