The Chadron State College softball team travels to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs this weekend for a four-game series with the Mountain Lions.
The Eagles are currently the first team out of playoffs with a record of 20-23 overall and 18-18 in RMAC play.
Fort Lewis holds the sixth and final playoff spot with a conference record of 18-16. The Skyhawks play Adams State this weekend before facing the RMAC Softball Regular Season Champions Colorado Christian next weekend.
Fort Lewis conference win percentage is .529, while CSC’s is .500.
The Mountain Lions are 13-30 overall and 10-24 in conference play. The Eagle’s opponent next week, CSU-Pueblo, is 16-27 overall and 11-23 in the RMAC.
The Mountain Lions split their series 2-2 with CSU-Pueblo last weekend.
Paige White leads this week’s opponent with a batting average of .340 and has a team high 13 doubles. Lexi Wagner has a team high 12 home runs and 34 RBI’s for the Mountain Lions.
Four different pitchers have recorded a win for UCCS this season.
Autumn Kunze leads the group with an ERA of 4.00. She has a record of 4-6 in 19 appearances. In 68.1 innings pitched, Kunze has allowed 88 hits and 54 runs while striking out 52 batters and walking 19.
Braelyne Crenshaw has a team high 112.2 innings pitched. Crenshaw has an ERA of 5.84 while allowing 162 hits and 115 runs. Opponents have struck out 85 times and drew 40 walks against her.
This weekend’s games are scheduled for 12 and 2 p.m., on Saturday and 11 a.m., and 1 p.m., on Sunday.
CSC returns home next week for their regular season finale and senior day on Thursday and Friday.
