The Chadron boys and Alliance girls basketball teams both picked up wins in the Bird Cage on Tuesday night.

The Chadron girls took a 17-16 lead over Alliance only to go on a 12 minute and 21 second field goal drought from the 2nd to the 4th quarters and lost to the Bulldogs 39-26.

Each team scored just two points in the 3rd quarter, Chadron’s points coming off of a pair of free throws from Taverra Sayaloune.

Haylee Wild finally got a bucket to drop at the 4:54 mark of the 4th quarter but Alliance started pulling away.

Sayaloune finished with a team high 10 points. Macey Seebohm had 13 points for Alliance.

Xander Provance went off for a career high 32 points as one of four Cardinals in double figures as Chadron beat Alliance for the first time this season 74-62.

Provance had 18 points by halftime as Broc Berry ended the first half with a lay-up and free throw to give Chadron a 39-30 lead at the break.

Chadron grew their lead to 13 in the 3rd quarter behind a trio of 3-pointers and a 5-of-6 showing at the free throw line. The Cards finished the night 20-of-26 at the charity stripe.

Berry finished the game with 12 points and Gage Wild and Trey Hendrickson each had 11. Tristen Timbers had 17 for Alliance.

Chadron is home again on Friday against Rapid City Christian.
