Ram Boys Start 2-0, Girls 1-1

The Crawford Rams are off to a 2-0 start to the season after earning wins over Bayard and Sioux County over the weekend.

The Rams defeated Bayard 47-19 after holding the Tigers to just seven points in the first half while racking up 31 points on their side of the scoreboard. Play was more even in the second half as the Rams put together a 16-12 run.

Crawford followed up the season opener with a second victory Saturday, defeating Sioux County 50-30. Sioux County was up 12-7 after one period of play but couldn’t sustain the tempo. While the Warriors were limited to single digit scoring in the remaining three periods, the Rams added double digits to the board through the last three quarters, taking a 26-19 lead into halftime.

On the girls’ side, the Rams are 1-1 in early action, winning their season opener 67-52 over Cody-Kilgore. Crawford led from the outset, going up 17-11 after the first period and maintaining a 30-27 lead at the break. The Rams extended their lead with a 21-14 run in the third quarter and capped the game with a final 16 points. Crawford faced Bayard in their second contest over the weekend, dropping the game 55-17.
