Rams 4-2 As December Action Winds Down

Loading

The Rams basketball teams are each 4-2 in early season action as they prepare to wrap up the first semester of competition at the Harrison Holiday Tournament this week.

The Lady Rams added checkmarks to their win column last week with a 66-3 victory over Minatare Dec. 12 and a 49-47 win over Niobrara County Dec. 15. Official stats for the games haven’t been entered, but Facebook posts indicate Britney Klein hit nine three-pointers and scored 41 points for the Rams in the first half of the Minatare contest.

The boys went 1-1 against Minatare and Niobrara County, defeating Minatare 58-21 but falling to Lusk 80-39. Against Minatare, the Rams scored in double digits every period, leading 36-9 at half-time. Taylor Homan led the Rams with 17 points, closely followed by Cyrus Walter with 16. The pair combined for seven three-pointers on the night. Carter Rudloff grabbed 11 rebounds for the Rams.

Cold shooting in the first and fourth quarters against Niobrara County kept Crawford from gaining momentum against a high scoring Tiger team. Lusk led 24-4 after the first eight minutes and extended their lead to 51-16 by the break. The Rams put together a 22-15 run in the third quarter but managed just a single free throw in the fourth. Homan once again led the Rams with 20 points, including five of the team’s seven three-pointers, and Rudloff had seven rebounds.
