Rams End Season With Nailbiter

The Crawford Lady Rams fell just short of advancing out of the first round of sub-districts this week, falling 68-64 to Morrill.

The contest was a nailbiter until the end, with the Rams battling back several times and Morrill fighting off the challenge. The score was knotted at 15 after one quarter, and the Lions inched ahead by four at half-time with a 15-11 run. Crawford turned up the pressure in the third with a 19-17 run to cut the deficit to two points.

With five minutes remaining, the Rams remained down by two. Morrill edged ahead by as much as seven but the Rams kept pace and worked until the final buzzer to chip away at the lead. Morrill netted 21 points in the final eight minutes, while the Rams added 19 to the board, with time running out on their effort to upset the Lions.
