The 7th annual Upper NIobrara White NRD Range Day at Chadron State College is this Wednesday in the Student Center.
A one-day educational event covering a variety of topics dealing with healthy rangeland, anyone interested in protecting or benefitting from range health should attend.
There will be 3 speakers before lunch: Justin Derber of the USDA Ag Research Service on drought management, UNL Extension specialist Aaron Berger on adding yearlings to a cow-calf operation, and rancher Pat Guptil on holistic planned grazing.
After a free lunch for all who register with the NRD, Wacey Kirkpatrick will talk about getting advice on risk management through hedging and marketing, then meteorologist Dan Day wraps it all up with what to expect from the weather this year.
The sessions begin at 8:30 in the CSC Student Center. Joining the NRD in supporting Range Day are Chadron State College, the C-F Coffee Gallery in the Sandoz Center, and the Bill and Virginia Coffee Family Foundation.
