Rapid City police continue to search for the second driver and vehicle in a motorcycle accident last Wednesday evening that eventually claimed the life of the bike rider.
Police say the rider, whose identity has not yet been released, died in the hospital Sunday night with an autopsy Tuesday confirming the death was directly caused by injuries from the accident.
Police responding to the accident at a Rapid City intersection shortly after 9:00 PM on the 13th found the injured motorcyclist with evidence collected at the scene indicating at least one other vehicle was involved in the crash.
Rapid City police say they remain “actively engaged” in identifying the driver of the second vehicle, with anyone having information urged to contact Detective Nate Senesac at 605-394-41
