Traffic in Rapid City will face delays and lane closures starting this week along Omaha Street from West Boulevard and Maple Avenue as the city upgrades lighting and traffic signals.
City officials said the work will take place overnight between 9pm and 6am. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in places and intersections will operate as an all-way stop intersection. Some roadway lighting work could be done during the day and could also lead to some lane closures as well.
Muth Electric is the prime contractor with the overall project costing 523,000 dollars and is scheduled to be completed by the end of July.
