Raymer Out As CSC Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Chadron State College Athletic Director Joel Smith announced Tuesday that Janet Raymer will no longer be performing the duties as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, effective immediately.

“I want to thank Janet for her service,” Smith said. “I wish her success in her future endeavors.”

A national search for CSC’s next head women’s basketball coach will begin immediately.

A Hay Springs native and thousand-point scorer for the Hawks in the late 1990s, Raymer played 4 seasons for CSC, then returned several years later to assist then-head coach Tim Conneally.

The Eagles struggled in her 7 years as head coach, going just 35-145 overall and 29-115 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. They were 4-24 overall and 4-18 in RMAC action this past season.

CSC never won more than 7 games in a season under Raymer, either overall or in conference play, but Shay Powers was 1st-Team All-RMAC this past season and Kalli Feddersen was 2nd-Team in both the 2016-16 and 17-18 seasons.

The Eagles also had 43 players earn RMAC academic honors during Raymer’s 7 seasons as head coach and her teams finished in the top half of the conference for team GPA each year.
