The Blue Girls and Red Boys were the winners Friday night in the 30th Annual Panhandle Prep All-Star Basketball games at Scottsbluff High School
Playing on her home floor for the last time, Scottsbluff’s Paige Horne earned MVP honors by scoring 25 points, including 17 in the 2nd half, to lead the Blues to an easy 78-52 win.
Demi Ferguson of Chadron and Gordon-Rushville’s McKinley Grover each had 6 points for the Blues while for the Blue, Chadron’s Taverra Sayaloune had 10 and Trinity Taylor of Gordon-Rushville added 4.
      The boys game was in doubt down to the final minute before the Reds held off the Blues 91-87. Levi Curtiss of Douglas, Wyo, took home the MVP trophy after leading the Reds with 23 points, but game-high honors went to Isak Doty of Sidney and the Blues with 25.
Gage Mintken of Hay Springs had 6 points and Lusk teammates Corey Bruegger and Aidan Mattheus and Corey Bruegger 7 and 4, respectively, for the Reds.
The Blues got a combined 22 points from 3 ex-Chadron Cardinals. Broc Berry and Tyler Spotted Elk each scored 9 while Gage Wild had 4
     Levi Curtiss of Douglas was also the winner of the Dunk Contest while Gering’s Jackson Howard and Lily Nichols of Wheatland, Wyo, were the winners of the 3-Point Contests.
