Due to the hot and dry conditions over the rest of the week, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne has posted a red flag warning through 8 o’clock on Wednesday.
A red flag warning is in effect for Dawes, Box Butte, Sioux, Scotts Bluff, Banner, Morrill, Kimball, and Cheyenne counties.
According to the NWS in Cheyenne, An approaching cold front will make the winds begin to pick up quickly, and by the afternoon we will see wind gusts of 35-45mph, with the strongest wind gusts in southeast WY.
Extremely critical fire weather conditions are expected due to low humidity, gusty winds, and dry weather.
