Rena Mae Belsky was born on April 28, 1929 in Rushville, NE, and passed away Nov 1, 2023 at the Torrington Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyo, surrounded by family.
Rena was the oldest of five children born to Christian Peter Jensen and Naomi Grant Jensen. She was raised in the Merriman area and attended both grade school and high school there, graduating from Merriman High in 1947.
After graduation, Rena attended Chadron State College, where she earned a teaching certificate. She taught in rural schools in Cherry County for several years before being united in marriage to Blaine E Belsky, also of Merriman.
To this union were born three children: Gary Lynn, Kristi Kay and Jo Ellen.
Rena enjoyed reading, doing crosswords, dancing, and playing cards.
Rena is survived by daughter Kristi (Joe) Minor of Hyannis, NE; daughter Jo Ellen (Roy) of Torrington; grandchildren Tyler {McKenzie} Minor, Clay Johns, Karri Johns, and Angie (Josh} Garner; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Bill Jensen of Tulsa, OK; sister Sue Novak of Martin, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rena was preceded in death by her parents, son Gary, brother Tom, sister Tudy, and an infant sister.
Colyer Funeral Home of Torrington, Wyo, is in charge of arrangements for Rena Belsky.
