Resurfacing Begins On Hwy 2 In Alliance

Work has begun on $2.2-million dollar resurfacing on about 2 miles of Highway 2 in Alliance, where the highway is also 3rd Street.

Project Manager Terry Wilson says the work includes milling down the existing asphalt, laying down a new layer of pavement, and repairing sidewalks and concrete.

Prime contract Werner Construction will maintain traffic with a pilot car and flaggers when needed for lane closures and restrictions. Work should be finished in November.

Wilson reminds motorists to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
