Reynolds Named First Team Academic All-Conference

Daniel Reynolds was the lone Eagle track and field athlete to be named to the RMAC Indoor Track and Field Academic First Team, the league office announced today.

The All-Academic First Team was voted on by conference sports information directors, from among all qualifiers who had a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average, maintained at least one year at their current school, and used a year of eligibility.

The Chadron State All-American from Granby, Colorado, has a 4.0 GPA in Rangeland Management and has earned back to back first team academic honors.

Reynolds, who just placed fifth in the nation and earned All-American honors in the weight throw, won the event at the conference championships with a hurl of 19.31m.

In addition, 22 other members of the Chadron State track and field team were named to the Academic Honor Roll.

On the men’s side, honor roll went to Emory Yoosook (Casper, Wyo.); Trevor Eisenbruan (Norfolk, Neb.); Nathan Mann (Queen Creek, Ariz.); Parker Gonser (Windsor, Colo.); Christopher Jennings (O’Neill, Neb.); Reid Spady (Oshkosh, Neb.); Cale Schafer (LaSalle, Colo.); Alec Penfield (Lusk, Wyo.); Osiel Cano (Oshkosh, Neb.); Dylan Soule (Polk, Neb.); Shane Collins (Bison, S.D.); Kyle Shirley (Queen Creek, Ariz.); Quincy Efeturi (Ikorodu, Nigeria); Creighton Trembly (Longmont, Colo.); Osvaldo Cano (Oshkosh, Neb.); and Harley Rhoades (Douglas, Wyo.).

The women’s honor roll included Alissa Wieman (Box Elder, S.D.); Morgan Ekwall (Yoder, Wyo.); Hannah Wilkie (Rangely, Colo.); Devyn Thornton (Windsor, Colo.); Lydia Peters (Sidney, Neb.); and Carlie Collier (Dunning, Neb.).

Justin Thompson of Colorado Mesa was the Men’s Indoor Academic Athlete of the Year while Zoe Baker from Colorado School of Mines was the women’s.
