Burial is the Red Cloud Community Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD
Richard Steven Elk Boy “Najinyapi Hoksila” was born on November 26, 1954, in Pine Ridge to Richard Dick Elk Boy and Alice Agnes (Red Cloud) Elk Boy. Richard made his journey to the Spirit World on October 25, 2021 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Richard is survived by his children, Edna Moves Camp, Adam Elk Boy, Oleaupi Good Lance and Marjoree Red Feather; adopted children, Gwen and Wendell Smoke and Emil American Horse; siblings, Lula Burk, Mary Black Tail Deer, Delia Conquering Bear and Donroy “Jimmy” Elk Boy; and numerous grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Vic Elk Boy and Alice “Agnes” Red Cloud-Elk Boy; siblings, Carl “Tootsie” Elk Boy, Winfred “Bear” Elk Boy, Doyle “Smiley” Red Cloud and Vera Brings Plenty; son, John Elk Boy; daughter, Okiyan Elk Boy; granddaughter, Hailee Oakie; grandson, Jozie Little Moon; and great grandson, Skylar Jealous of Him.
Honorary Pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
