He had two brothers William Lawrence Huggett andย Gary Gordon Huggett.
He grew up in Oregon and attended several schools until he graduated in 1959 from David Douglas High Schol.ย A fewย years after graduating, in 1963 he married DeLoris Jean Grimm,ย from this marriage came seven children, DeLena, DeLisa, Shane,ย Travis, Gordon, MiChealla, and LyRinda.

Richard was an avid bowler, he bowled in several different leagues. Heย won several trophies and was on a national bowling league that evenย made a TV appearance. Bowling was a big part of his life until he could not play anymore, then he turned to watching it on TV.ย
Richard was a very kind and loving man, he enjoyed teasing and kidding around with people and had a great sense of humor. If you knew him, you would know he enjoyed a good old-fashioned Twinkie, but only the original. A Twinkie and a glass of milk was his go-to snack.
His family and his faith meant a lot to him. He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and being a member of the church, was very important to him throughout his life. Family history and genealogy also meant a lot to him and he would always look in the phone book for people with the last name of Huggett to see if they were related. He had the opportunity to go to Canada to meet one of his cousins that he found coincidentally.
Richard will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Richard is survived by his loving children, DeLena Gillam, DeLisa (Blendon) Olson, Shane (Karen) Huggett, Travis (Angie) Huggett, Gordon Huggett, MiChealla Huggett, LyRinda Huggett along with 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
