Wind Cave National Park says a section of National Park Service Road #6, also known as Red Valley Road, is now closed for at least the next two weeks for maintenance work
Park Chief of Interpretation Tom Farrell says this year’s harsh weather damaged the unpaved road between Highland Ridge Road and Custer State Park, making it difficult for low-clearance vehicles to use Red Valley Road.
Farrell says the maintenance work is focused on restoring the surface of the road to make it easier to use – especially for low-clearance vehicles. The closure will continue at least through next Friday, August 11th.
