Robert Kenneth Lacota Jr – Lakota Traditional Name “Thuchuhu Tanka”  (Big Ribs) Zuni Traditional Name “Chunchee” (Good Person) – was born on Sept 1, 1970 in Gallup, NM to Robert Lacota Sr and Brenda (Quam) Lacota. Robert made his journey to the Spirit World on Dec 12, 2023 at his home in Commerce City, CO.

Robert enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially spending time with his children, visiting with his mom, hanging out with his brother Tony, talking about Big Foot or the Broncos and hanging out with his buddies.

In his spare time, you would find Robert fishing, hunting, or camping. He loved to travel to and from Colorado to Cheyenne Creek, SD and to the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

Robert worked at Classic Collision/BJ’s Auto for many years; he loved and enjoyed his job.  His boss Drake and his co-workers became his family.  Robert was loving, caring, a good relative, a great friend, and an awesome co-worker.

Our father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend will be greatly missed by many.

Robert is survived by his children Derhae Lacota, Serena Lacota, and Marcus Lacota; mother Brenda (Ron) Lacota-Shell; siblings Anthony (Suzanne Freyta) “Tony” Lacota and Rebecca Lacota; niece Summer Aguirre; and his fur baby, his dog Nitro.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Robert Lacota Sr.

Pallbearers will be John Carpio, Jacob Herman, Zachary Herman, Michael Patton, Janetty Lakota, and Lonnie Waters.

Honorary pallbearers will be Quam Family from Zuni, NM, Kenneth, Karen, Kim and Kallen Carpio and Family, Lymona Red Cloud-Hawk and Family, Carol Lakota and Family, Lakota Family, Robert (Valerie) Miller, Julie and Raymond Gonzales Family, Yazzie Family, Valerie Medina and Family, Classic Collisions, BJ’s Auto Body, and All Family and Friends.

Robert had many family and close friends, too numerous to mention all by name but he was especially fond of each one of you.

Thank you all for your support, loving thoughts, and prayers – and for loving Bobby.
