Josh Robinson was named 2022-23 RMAC Men’s Basketball First Team All-Conference and Bryce Latimer and Isaiah Wyatt earned second team honors, the conference announced today.
A vote by the league head coaches determines the all-conference teams.
Robinson, a junior from Paris, Texas, averaged 13.9 points and 8.3 rebounds a game this season. Those marks ranked him 16th and fifth in the league, respectively. He is the first Eagle to be named RMAC first team since Moala Tautuaa in 2011-12.
At Colorado School of Mines during the regular season, Robinson had a season-high 31 points to go along with 10 rebounds, recording a double-double. He had eight double-doubles this year, including a stretch of four consecutive games.
His season high 15 rebounds came at the end of the four-game stretch, where he added 21 points against Western Colorado.
Robinson finished the season shooting .592 percent from the field, ranking him second in the conference and 18th in the nation.
Latimer, the Eagles sixth man, averaged 15.2 points this season. He ranked 11th in the conference in scoring average and fifth in the conference in assists, with 104.
Last week, the junior from Stone Mountain, Georgia, scored 43 points in a win against South Dakota Mines. He’s the first Chadron State male basketball player to score 40 or more points in a game this century and his 43 points ties him for fifth on the Eagles’ all-time single game list.
In February, Latimer scored 25 points and had 10 assists. With an assist to turnover ratio of 1.4, he ranked ninth in the league.
Latimer finished the season shooting .853 percent from the charity stripe with 110 makes on 129 attempts, making him third in the league. He also shot .472 percent from the field, ranking him 14th in the conference.
Another junior, Isaiah Wyatt of Fort Worth, Texas, averaged 15.2 points per game, ranking him 11th in the conference. He added 5.3 rebounds per game.
While shooting 47 percent from three this season, Wyatt has made 82 of his 175 attempts. Both ranks are number one in the RMAC and his percentage is fourth nationally.
While starting every game, Wyatt scored 10 or more points in each one except four. He has scored a season high 23 points twice, once in November against Ecclesia and once in January against Fort Lewis. He finished the season with four double-doubles.
Joel Scott from Black Hills State was named the RMAC Player of the Year. Brayden Maldonado of MSU-Denver and TJ Sanchez of New Mexico Highlands shared the honor of RMAC CoFreshman of the Year.
Mac Riniker was named Defensive Player of the Year and Mike DeGeorge was Coach of the Year, both of Colorado Mesa.
