The Rocky Mountain Region of the USDA Forest Service is hiring over 2,700 temporary, permanent seasonal, and permanent employees. Through November, job seekers may apply for entry-level and mid-level positions in various occupations through USAJOBS.
Positions are available in rewarding occupations, including archaeology, business administration, customer service, engineering, forestry, geographic information systems, hydrology, information technology, maintenance, physical and biological sciences, fire and fuels management, rangeland management, and recreation management.

Permanent Seasonal Forestry Careers
Applications will be accepted through November 22 for permanent seasonal forestry aid and forestry technician positions.
Seasonal employment is a great way to start a lifelong career with the Forest Service. Initial seasonal appointment employees will work a 13/13 schedule, 6 months on and 6 months off. Appointments may be increased later to 18/8 (18 pay periods on, 8 pay periods off) or a full 26 pay periods of work based on unit needs and funding.
Permanent Forestry and Timber Careers
Applications will be accepted from through November 1 for permanent forestry technician, forester, and prescribed fire and fuels positions.
Applications will be accepted through November 8 for various temporary positions for the upcoming 2024 summer field season.
