Rollover In The Black Hills Claims One Life

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a passenger was killed in a one-vehicle rollover accident about 7:30 Saturday morning in the Black Hills near Piedmont.

The name of the victim and the driver have not been released.

The Patrol says the 21-year old female driver was eastbound on a county road a mile east of Piedmont when it left the road to the right, went into the ditch, and eventually rolled.

Both the driver and her 32-year old male passenger were wearing seat belts, but while she escaped with minor injuries he was pronounced dead at the scene. Charges are pending against the driver.
