One incumbent won and one incumbent lost in Tuesday’s school board and city council election in Hot Springs.
Losing his reelection bid for City Council Ward 1 was 8-year council veteran Craig Romey, who fell to Hal Glanville 62-56. Turnout, which was limited to voters in Ward 1, was just 13%.
School Board incumbent Katie Burchfield was the top votegetter among the four candidates for 2 seats.
Burchfield, on the board for the past 2 years, received 157 votes with the other seat going to Guy Prescott, who got 129 votes. Trailing were Darcy Engel with 115 and David Stewart with 93.
