Ross D Rash was born June 5, 1929, in Gordon, the middle child of Ross Davis and Vera Grace (Cooper) Rash, and passed away at Cumbernauld Village in Winfield, KS, on April 17, 2024.
Upon graduating from Gordon High School, Ross attended Chadron State College and went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska School of Engineering with a degree in electrical engineering.
Ross and Glendoris Lembke were married on July 15, 1952 in Chadron, NE. Over the years, they made their home in Bloomington, MN, and later Udall and Winfield, KS, but they also lived in Bisee, AZ, and the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul, MN.
From the time he was a young boy, Ross delighted in discovering how things worked. As a child, it manifested itself in the building of black powder devices, giant kites, and radios. This curiosity continued throughout his life and directly affected his career choices.
Ross was a founding group member of Comcet, later named Comten, a company that built mainframe computers.
Away from work, Ross was a Master Mason, belonging to Arcania Lodge #195 for 74 years after joining Nov 24, 1950. In his spare time, he loved tinkering with radios, televisions (once building one from a kit), and computers.
Ross loved music, especially classical and swing. He was an avid reader of history and loved to discuss it with others. He also had a dry sense of humor which will be greatly missed.
In 1997, Ross and Glennie moved to Udall to live near their daughter and her family. They enjoyed living in the country and Ross loved mowing the lawn while listening to his own little private radio station that he had created.
Ross and Glennie later moved to Cumbernauld Village in Winfield, where they enjoyed being a part of the community.
Ross was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sisters Janet McKee and Lois Hinton.
Survivors include his daughter Kristen McReynolds and her husband Bill of Udall; and granddaughter Cathlin McReynolds of Kansas City, KS.
