Russell Joseph Whirlwind Horse was born on Sept 30, 1938 in Allen to John Whirlwind Horse and Ida Six Feathers. Russell made his journey to the Spirit World on Feb 25, 2024 at the Gordon Memorial Hospital in Gordon, NE.
Russell is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Russell was preceded in death by his father John Whirlwind Horse; mother Ida Six Feathers-Whirlwind Horse; brothers Raymond Whirlwind Horse and William Whirlwind Horse; nephews John Bad Wound, Marvin Bad Wound, Louis Means, Philip Waters, Raymond Whirlwind Horse, Paul Whirlwind Horse, and Moses Red Bear; sisters Emma Nelson-Waters, Doris Bad Wound, Agnes Bad Wound, Josephine Jamison, Verda Whirlwind Horse, Verbena Red Bear, and Mary Jane Red Bear; brother-in-law Leroy Waters, special friend Dora Broken Rope; nieces Pauline Whirlwind Horse, Susann Red Bear, and Maria Whirlwind Horse; and cousin Albert Six Feathers Sr.
