We remember Ruth Ann DuBray of Allen, who was born on June 1, 1962 to Willard DuBray and Lovey Saves Life, and whose spirit departed from us on June 4, 2024 at the Hospice house in Rapid city, SD.
Ruth Ann was raised by Gordon “Buzzy” and Martha DuBray 5 miles west of Allen, where she called home.
Ruth Ann had a gypsy soul; she never stayed in one place too long – her happy feet taking her to any new destination as she saw fit. She lived in many places in her lifetime.
Ruth Ann easily trusted people and had a big heart. Everything was a great time for her as she was always laughing and reminiscing on old memories while making new ones.
She was a do-it-yourselfer and could do what most women couldn’t. She was also a cowgirl, mechanic, and interior decorator who could both fix the plumbing and crochet.
Ruth Ann is survived by her children, who she loved wholeheartily, Gordon (Hoksila) R Cosme of Sioux Falls, SD, Haley R DuBray of Scottsbluff, NE, Elbridge (Canku) P DuBray of Victorville, CA, and Lovey L Cosme of Norfolk, NE; siblings Mitchell J DuBray Sr of Allen, Alex Salway of Martin, SD, Roberta Mitchell of Fredrick, OK, Pauline R DuBray of Allen, Muske, Carol Rouillard, and Leslie Pitman of Spokane, WA; 21 grandkids, and 1 great-grandchild with two more on the way.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her birth parents; Willard DuBray and Lovey Saves Life; parents, Gordon “Buzzy” and Martha DuBray; sisters, Shanna DuBray and Irene Janis; brothers, Jinx DuBray and Marvin Poor Bear; nephews, Jody DuBray and Buzzy Lee DuBray, Sr.; and cousins, Ron DuBray and Carol Shangreaux.
Pallbearers will be Myron “Chico” DuBray, Duane Long Pumpkin, Sr., Roger Yellow Boy, Jr., Seth “Kermit” Salway, Elbridge DuBray, Jr., Emilio Cosme, Leo George DuBray, and Jahmal DuBray.
