Chadron High assistant football coach Mike Sandstrom has been named the new head football coach for the Cardinals. Sandstrom takes over for Mike Lecher who stepped down on Thursday after 17 years leading the program.
Sandstrom spent a year with Chadron in 2012 before moving on to Yuma, Colorado High School from 2013-2015 where he served as an assistant coach with the program.
In 2016, Sandstrom returned to Chadron and spent time as a line coach and offensive coordinator.
