Saturday Fire In Scottsbluff Claims 1 Life – UPDATE Name Released

     Scottsbluff authorities say a 58-year old man died over the weekend of injuries suffered in a Saturday afternoon residential fire. 

     58-year old Gregory Burkman was unresponsive but breathing with severe burns over the majority of his body when he was found at a intersection by police officers responding to the nearby fire just after 1:00 PM

     Scottsbluff Police Sgt Dominick Peterson says Burkman was taken to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff by ambulance, then flown to the burn center at the Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley where he died from his injuries.

      Burkman’s elderly parents were displaced by the fire and Sgt Peterson says they’re staying with other family members.. 

     . An attached garage and southern portion of the home sustained the most damage from the fire, estimated at $70,000. The fire is believed to have started in the garage.
