Scotts Bluff National Monument to Host Guided Hike in Celebration of National Trails Day

Loading

National Trails Day® is a day of public events aimed at advocacy and trail service. Tens of thousands of hikers, bikers, paddlers, horseback riders, trail clubs, federal and local agencies, land trusts, and businesses come together in partnership to advocate for, maintain, and clean up public lands and trails.

We will celebrate National Trails Day® on June 3, 2023 at Scotts Bluff National Monument with a ranger-guided hike. Join Park Ranger Eric Grunwald for a fun hike down the popular Saddle Rock Trail. Along the way Ranger Grunwald will point out geologic features and talk about the history of the trail. Participants of all ages are permitted. However, participants must be prepared to walk 1.6 miles and descend 435 feet on an uneven, paved trail. Sections of the trail have steep drop-offs. Registration is required. To register, please call the monument visitor center at 308-436-9700.
