While party nominees for governor are picked in the primary election, the choice for lieutenant governor is made at the party’s state convention – which for South Dakota Democrats begins today.
Keintz is the only person to announce their candidacy.
A real estate broker by trade, Keintz is finishing her first term in the South Dakota House, representing a mostly rural district in the northeast corner of the state.
