Severe Weather Awareness Week In Nebraska Is Here

Loading

This is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Nebraska, running today through Friday and highlighted by a statewide tornado drill Wednesday morning at 9:00 MT.

Governor Jim Pillen urges all Nebraskans to use the week and the tornado drill to prepare or update an emergency response plan dealing with the possibility of tornadoes, floods, and other life-threatening weather developments.

Pillen says every family, school, hospital, business, and government office should have an emergency response plan and an emergency with food, water, and other items to help them stay safe during any severe weather event.

The governor also encourages residents to remember they have lots of neighbors, including many that are new to their area, and to help those new neighbors make sure they understand the threat posed by severe weather.
